Esper Agent Version: 14.2.5428
New Features
- Improved Navigation in Devices & Groups: When browsing devices in groups and subgroups, clicking on a device meant navigating away from the group you were working on. Now, when you click on a device, you will be redirected to a new tab. Your group navigation will now be preserved on the previous tab.
- Timezone Added to GET Devices V2 Endpoint: We’ve added timezone to GET /api/v2/devices/ for all device platforms.
- Network Tab for Apple Devices: We’ve added a network tab for Apple devices. See the device’s IMEI1, IMEI2, Wi-Fi MAC ID, Ethernet MAC ID, ICCID 1, and ICCID 2 information by clicking on the device details page.
-
Android Esper Agent Updates:
- Fixed an issue where apps with incomplete inventory details could remain listed on a device.
- Fixed an issue where uninstalled apps could remain listed in a device's app inventory.
- Improved Remote Viewer by automatically keeping it up to date in the background according to the device's update policy.
- Added support for receiving remote push notifications to start Remote File Manager sessions on Android devices.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
-
Better filter tooltips: Fixed an issue in Devices & Groups with the Device Properties filter by limiting selections to one platform at a time. Selecting an Android property disables the iOS tab, and selecting an iOS property disables the Android tab. To switch platforms, unselect your current options first.
- Export as expected: In Advanced View, downloading the device or group list as Excel/CSV while a search term was active could export unrelated or extra devices instead of only the devices matching the user’s active search. This sometimes meant exporting the full device list regardless of what was searched. Exporting a filtered device or group list now returns only the matching devices. Exporting with an empty search box is unchanged and continues to return all devices as it previously had.
- Managed Google Play enrollment: Fixed the “Session expired” error when completing enrollment through the “Click to Enroll” button in the Esper Android Apps sidebar.
- Complete provisioning platform selection: Fixed missing supported platforms in the Select Device Platform dropdown under Provisioning Methods.
- Accurate device-operation error messages: Fixed non-Converge operations incorrectly reporting “Converge failed” when command dispatch failed. Affected operations now display an appropriate command-dispatch failure reason.
- Pipeline stage promotion: Fixed the missing “Promote to Stage 2” option that sometimes occurred after cancelling a pipeline stage.
- Google Assistant fix: Google Assistant can be reported as installed and disabled even though the package is not present on some Foundation devices. The console now reflects the actual state of the Google Assistant app.
- Accurate device-operation error messages: Fixed non-Converge operations incorrectly reporting “Converge failed” when command dispatch failed. Affected operations now display an appropriate command-dispatch failure reason.
- Fixed Linux script Issue: Resolved an issue where script-based actions could stop working on devices with enhanced security (SELinux) enforcement after the first agent update. Newly provisioned devices were not affected.
- Fixed missing IMEI for Apple devices: Fixed an issue where IMEI for Apple devices was sometimes missing from the console.
-
API performance improvements: We improved performance for users working with large datasets and the following endpoints:
- GET /api/v0/enterprise/{id}/devicegroup/
- GET /api/v1/enterprise/{id}/devicegroup/
- GET /api/v0/enterprise/{id}/user/ (list)
- GET /api/v0/enterprise/{id}/user/{user_id}/
