New Features 

  • Updated Fonts for Readability: We’ve updated the fonts throughout the console to improve readability. No more confusion over what’s a 0 and what’s a capital O. The same goes for 1 vs. l vs. |. There’s now a distinct font for codes such as device names, API keys, and serial numbers, and a highly legible font for just about everything else. No action needed.

  • Windows out of beta: We’ve dropped the beta tag from our Windows device management solution. From PPKG provisioning and MSI, EXE, MSIX app deployment, to remote terminals, scripts, and more, Windows management now comes with a robust feature set right out of the box. One callout: you’ll still need to request Deep Link provisioning from our Support team. However, other PPKG provisioning is supported from the start. See our full suite of Windows documentation (now beta tag-free!). 
  • Custom Actions out of beta: Custom Actions for Linux are now out of beta. Create an action using a script and have it run from the device page or through a blueprint. One button, multiple possibilities. Now available from your profile via Custom Actions. 
  • Added enrollment URL for Apple devices: You can now configure an enrollment server when provisioning supported Apple devices. Use https://{tenant}-api.esper.cloud/api/tenant/v0/mdm/enrollmentconfig/ when preparing a server for Apple Configurator enrollment. Note the trailing backslash ("/"). Reach out to our Support team to learn more.
  • Windows Kiosk Mode now supports Shell Launcher and UWP apps: Shell Launcher (new kiosk method). Shell Launcher replaces the Windows shell entirely — your app runs as the only shell, with no desktop, taskbar, or Start menu to escape to. It supports both Win32 and UWP apps, and it's the recommended method for UWP kiosk deployments since it avoids the app-specific limitations of Assigned Access. Requires Windows Enterprise or IoT Enterprise (including LTSC). Learn more about Kiosk Mode for Windows. 
    • We’ve renamed the existing Windows Kiosk Method to Assigned Access. The existing kiosk method is now labeled Assigned Access in the console and now supports UWP apps in addition to Win32. If you’ve been using the existing kiosk method, everything stays the same and there’s no action needed on your part.

  • Updated Blueprint Drift Status labels: Blueprint drift status now displays as In Drift or Compliant throughout the console, replacing the previous In Drift / Not in Drift labels. This is a UI change only and does not affect drift detection or behavior. Learn more in Drift Management.

    When filtering for devices in drift, select at least one blueprint first, apply the filter, and then select drift status.

  • Android Esper Agent Updates: 
    • Fixed an issue where a database error during app management operations could cause the Esper Agent to crash unexpectedly.
    • Added error reporting for OEMconfig failures so that configuration issues are surfaced as feedback on the device.
    • Fixed an issue where the Esper console could display an incorrect system update policy status on Knox and Bluebird devices that had OTA updates disabled by the OEM.
    • Fixed an issue where enabling Wi-Fi tethering via a blueprint would report success on the console even when the operation had actually failed on the device.
    • Fixed an issue where device properties in the Esper console could remain stale after a failed sync with the device.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • Fixed an issue where Console administrators in timezones ahead of their devices could not schedule app installs for device-local times using Device Time mode, even when the scheduled time was valid in the device's timezone. Both Device Time and Console Time modes now validate scheduled times correctly, allowing global organizations to schedule app installs across timezones without manual time conversions.
  • Fixed an issue where the Actions button in Devices & Groups was disabled if the user selected more than one Linux device. The applicable options will no longer be disabled as long as all the selected devices are compatible with the command. 
  • Fixed an issue where Windows scheduled commands sometimes executed even after the scheduled time.
  • Fixed an issue where some devices on Foundation sometimes showed an incorrect version following an update.
