New Features 

  • Push files to Windows devices through a blueprint: You can now programmatically send files to Windows devices through a blueprint. Upload or select files from Content Management in the same place you configure your settings. Push configuration files, license files, or scripts to a fixed path on managed Windows devices to the exact paths you specify. Learn more about blueprints for Windows. 

  • Run as System or Logged-in User with Windows Remote Terminal: Windows Remote Terminal can now run remote commands in the context of a specific logged-in user instead of only as SYSTEM. When an interactive user session is active on the device, it launches the terminal in that user's context, so commands run with the user's privileges rather than the root-equivalent SYSTEM account. Note:
  • The device must be running Esper Agent version 2.1.23.0 or higher. 
  • A user session must be active on the device for user-level execution. 
  • If no interactive user session is available on the device, the terminal does not start a user-level session. Instead, it displays a message indicating that no active user session was found.

  • Set timeout for Linux scripts: You can now set a timeout for Linux devices when selecting a Run script command from Devices & Groups. Set the timeout in minutes so that scripts execute or timeout within a predictable time frame.
  • Apple Silicon Support for Esper Device Provisioner: Esper Device Provisioner (EDP) v8.2.0 now supports Apple Silicon-based Macs. This tool provisions devices through an ADB connection, allowing you to add AOSP devices or devices without cameras. 
    • Mac users upgrading from EDP v8.1.0 will need to download the latest version of the device provisioner. 
    • Going forward, the Mac download for Device Provisioner will be supported for Apple Silicon devices (Windows and Linux devices are still supported). If you need the Intel-based version, contact Esper Support.
  • Wireless pairing for Android 11+ in Esper Device Provisioner: You can now pair Android 11+ devices with the Esper Device Provisioner using wireless pairing, without an initial USB connection.
  • Remote Viewer for Android 17: We now support Remote Viewer sessions for devices running Android 17. 
  • Android Esper Agent Updates: 
    • Fixed an issue where Esper Agent could remain stuck in a Processing state after a blueprint was successfully applied.
    • Added support for carrier network (PLMN) selection, allowing admins to configure preferred carrier networks for managed devices, with improved compatibility for MediaTek based devices.
    • Added support for controlling notification display in Kiosk mode, allowing admins to configure whether notifications are shown to end-users.
    • Added support in the Esper Device SDK for reporting specific captive portal activation failures, allowing apps to distinguish captive portal interception from other activation errors during device activation.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • iOS Web Clips improvement: com.apple.webapp is now available as a target application from the Add Webclip modal. Select com.apple.webapp as the target application when configuring an iOS Web Clip in a blueprint. Setting the target to com.apple.webapp preserves the fullscreen, app-like experience for devices on iOS 26.4+.
  • VPP app support for reports: VPP apps are now part of Device App Reports. See the applications on your Apple devices from a single report.
  • Linux Remote Viewer and Control fix: We fixed an issue for Remote Viewer and Control on certain Linux devices where the mouse and keyboard message was reported enabled even if the mouse and keyboard weren’t actually enabled. The message now reflects the correct state of the mouse and keyboard.
  • API permission fix: Fixed a permissions issue where updating device tags via PATCH /api/v2/enterprise/{tenant_id}/device/{id}/ required the broader update:device scope, even when the request body contained only a tags field. Accounts with just update:device:tag scope received a 403 Forbidden error, despite the equivalent v0/v1 endpoints and the dedicated tags endpoint working correctly with that scope.
  • Provisioning fix for Wi-Fi and location: Fixed an issue where devices that were provisioned to a tenant would sometimes show stale Wi-Fi and location information. 
  • Dispatch commands fix: Removed redundant device operation state update retries while processing a bulk operation.
  • Improved performance: Improved database performance for scheduled commands.
  • Blueprints for new signsups fix: Fixed an issue where new signups were not seeing Blueprints for a few minutes after signup.
  • Bluetooth UI fix: Fixed a console UI bug where clicking on device information for device that was paired to Bluetooth would intermittently show a “Something went wrong” message.
