Dates: August 19th, 2024
Esper Agent Version: 7.18.1055
Note: We combined DevRel 143 with DevRel 144.
New Features
- Introducing App Reports for Android devices. Want to know which apps are on your fleet? Generate an app report. We’ve also enhanced filtering and searching capabilities for this iteration of reports, meaning it’s easier than ever to hone in on the data you need. We’ll release this as a beta starting August 20th or later, with a rollout for all customers soon.
Note: Tenants with many groups may require additional updates for the App Reports feature. Reach out to Esper if you think your account may be affected.
- The iOS Esper Agent is now enabled for existing tenants. That means you can now use Remote Viewer for your iOS devices. See our iOS remote viewer announcement.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- We’ve added the ability to see the Android Build Number in the Esper Settings app. Tap on Esper Settings to your device’s Android build number.
- We’ve added a new category when submitting tickets to Esper Support. You can now submit a question. Not sure what kind of ticket to submit? Submit a question.
- You’ll now see individual commands for the following events in the Event Feed when you converge iOS devices. In addition, blueprint “Ignore” settings will work as expected for the following:
- App Uninstall
- Bluetooth
- Factory Reset
- Local App Install
- NFC setting
- We’ve cleaned up the way apps are installed. Previously, after reprovisioning a device, some enterprise apps weren’t installed as expected. Now, even after reprovisioning, apps will be installed as expected.
- We’ve reworked the behavior for disabled devices. Previously, disabled devices would appear in the console as an unclickable device. Now, if you disable a device via the factory reset command or delete API, it will no longer appear in the console.
We’re excited to launch DevRel 144 over the coming days, and the Esper team is hard at work on the next release. Please contact Esper Support to share your thoughts on how Esper can improve future releases.
