Dates: August 18, 2025
Esper Agent Version: 8.9.1690
New Features
- Converge at scale is now available to all customers. Select any number of devices and converge. Converge at scale is just one way to converge a fleet and is designed for those fleets with a large device count. You can still converge at the group and individual level. Learn all about the different converge types in Converge and Desired State.
- We’ve added Linux to the OS filter in Devices & Groups. You can now filter your devices by Linux (beta), Android, or iOS devices.
- We’ve added a filter for iOS 26 in Devices & Groups. You can now search for iOS devices on version 26.
- We’ve added a way to name scripts for Linux’s Run Script command (beta). Named scripts will be referenced in the Event Feed.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- We fixed an issue where the “Auto Device TImezone” policy in a blueprint was not applied to the device reliably. Now the Auto Device Timezone should be applied to the device when it converges to the blueprint.
- We fixed an issue for the EAST device report that showed an invalid Created On date. You’ll now see the correct Created On date.
- We fixed an issue where users with the rename permission in a custom role weren’t able to rename devices. Now users with the rename device permission can now create an alias name for devices.
- We fixed an issue where a Custom Role with the delete user permission wasn’t able to delete a user. We’ve fixed this, so now any user with the permission will be permitted to delete a user.
- We've fixed an issue where a Custom Role wasn't able to view the Activity Feed even if it had event feed permissions. This issue is fixed, so roles with event feed permissions should be able to read the Activity Feed as well.
- We fixed an issue where the Get list of heartbeat for all devices API returned an incorrect value for device’s Last Seen field. If the device was last seen in 30 minutes, it should return a value of 1. Devices will now show the correct Last Seen value if they checked in recently.
- We’ve added better error messages for the Play Store app installation failure if the Android Enterprise (AFW) account is missing on the device.
- We’ve added links to the Linux Seamless Provisioning page (beta).
- We’ve made our Linux (beta) script editor more user friendly by providing script highlighting.
- Esper Agent improvements:
- Resolved an infrequent issue that could cause slight delays in command processing.
- Fixed an issue where the Esper Agent would not properly handle multiple Converge commands during provisioning.
- Fixed a bug where auto timezone was not being set correctly on some devices.
- Improved the play store app installation process by cleaning up the Play store cache.
