Esper Agent Version: v7.17.0402
Edited on: April 19, 2024
New Features
- We’re happy to announce Esper Foundation Software Updates for devices running Esper Foundation. You can now:
- Set Auto-Updates for Foundation builds: Set automatic updates to update all of your devices to the latest build over the internet. Because these updates require approval, you can rest assured that devices get the latest updates once your team is ready.
- Include Foundation builds in pipelines: Deploy an update and test a group of devices through a pipeline. Pipelines allow you to target devices for updates so that you can update them over time. Or test first, then set auto-updates for the rest of your fleet.
- Download builds: Download builds to flash devices that aren’t compatible with pipelines or auto-updates.
- View the Foundation Event Feed: Check when builds were approved, who approved them, and more!d
- Bypass authentication prompts for adb for Foundation devices.
- See our Esper Foundation guide and FAQ for more information.
- You can now add tags and aliases to your iOS devices.
- You can now disable blueprint reverts. Reverts are a blueprint behavior where a blueprint rolls back to its previous settings if the new settings fail. Previously, reverts happened automatically. This feature is available by request.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
-
- You can now schedule an Android system update using a windowed installation for a 24 hour period, even if the start time is later than the end time. When you schedule this kind of update:
- Use 12:00 AM as the Start Time and 12:00 AM as the End Time to update over a 24 hour period.
- If you want to schedule for the next day, choose an earlier end time than your start time. For example, you can schedule an update to start at 10:00 PM and end at 6:00 AM.
- Scheduled updates are available within 30 days of an Android system release. After 30 days, the update will be automatically available through a manual installation on the device. Update availability varies by device. See Android’s Help Page for more information.
- You can now schedule an Android system update using a windowed installation for a 24 hour period, even if the start time is later than the end time. When you schedule this kind of update:
- We’ve improved messaging in the Event Feed to make understanding what’s happening with your devices easier.
- Searching for a device in Devices & Groups? Your search results will now persist when you click the back button in the console or on your keyboard. This works for searching for a device via the search bar in the Blueprints view, or in the first group in the Legacy view. You can still use filters if you’re looking for something in a specific group.
- We’ve simplified the API Key Management experience by improving text, flows, and more. You won’t need to take any action on your current API keys or workflows because of these changes. These changes are ongoing, so you might not see them right away.
- We've made improvements to the messages you see during onboarding to help you with troubleshooting when provisioning fails.
- Fixed an issue where languages without country codes were available in a blueprint. Now, languages will have their correct country code associated with them.
- Fixed an issue where Esper Settings sometimes crashed when discovering Wi-Fi access points. Wi-Fi searches will no longer cause a crash.
- Fixed an issue where the config did not persist when closing the section in Apps > Play Store for specific apps. Configs will now persist when closing this section.
- Fixed an issue where incorrect data was sometimes in a downloaded list from the Templates Devices & Groups page. You'll see the correct data in your downloads.
- We originally changed the Devices & Groups view to show 100 devices at a time. However, we've since reverted this change as this caused issues for users with large fleets. You'll once again have the option to see up to 200 devices at a time from the Devices & Groups page.
We’re excited to launch DevRel 135 over the coming days, and the Esper team is hard at work on the next release. Please contact Esper Support to share your thoughts on how Esper can improve future releases.
