Esper Agent Version: v8.9.1821
New Features
- Moving an iOS device between tenants or MDMs is now easier than ever. We’ve revamped the way devices move between tenants, meaning you can now change a device’s assigned tenant in Apple Business Manager, do a couple syncs, and watch your device move seamlessly to the new tenant–all without having to reprovision or release the device. Now available for iOS devices provisioned with Apple Business Manager.
- The Devices & Groups filter will now show Red Hat devices as part of our Linux Beta.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- We will begin rolling out a security improvement to login passwords. Going forward, users will not be able to set a password they’ve used in the recent past. Only password changes going forward will be affected by this, so the next time a user changes their password, they will not be able to use the same password they used previously. Users can continue to use their existing passwords to log in up until the point they choose to change them. We still recommend using robust passwords, changing passwords every so often, and using other secure methods to log in.
- We’ve added the ability to disable the Esper network selection option if the device lacks necessary Location Services.
- We’ve updated the filter in Pipelines to show all currently available Android versions. Previously, it only showed options up to Android 14; it now includes Android 15 and newer.
- Fixed an issue in the legacy view where the App Version column in install history showed the build number instead of the actual app version. Now, the correct app version is displayed consistently.
- iOS 26 devices now support the Hide Preloaded Apps setting in a blueprint.
- We fixed an issue that affected iOS/iPadOS devices provisioned via Apple Business Manager where Remove Registration was greyed out in the individual device section even though it could be selected from the Devices & Groups page.
- We’ve added brand, manufacturer, and model for iOS/iPadOS devices in the console.
- We’ve made some improvements to the way we talk about Linux devices (Beta) in the console:
- Improved error messaging for Linux devices.
- Improved instructions for Linux seamless provisioning.
- Non-root users can now remove Linux devices (Beta).
-
Esper Agent Improvements:
- Adjusted visibility of the in-app provisioning network list if the device lacks Location services.
- Added remote config support for the Samsung Keyboard app to remove it from the whitelist.
