You’re probably familiar with the Android or iOS Settings apps that allow you to configure your device to your preferences. Esper Settings provides all the important features from their respective system settings, such as Wi-Fi, brightness, volume, and more, without exposing features that could leave your device vulnerable.
In this article:
Android Esper Settings
Esper Settings for Android allows many of the same configuration options as Android Settings. Some settings, such as Remote Control, are available on certain devices.
There are two modes:
- Admin Mode
- User Mode
The settings that appear in these modes can be modified through a blueprint. You'll also find descriptions of these settings in the blueprint article.
Admin Mode
Users can enter Admin Mode by entering the password (found in the device’s blueprint > Esper Settings > Esper Settings Apps > View Settings).
After entering the admin password, users can adjust any additional settings defined in the blueprint.
Enabling Esper Settings
Esper Settings can be enabled and modified through a device’s blueprint.
To have the app appear on the device’s home screen, go to Esper Settings in a blueprint, and enable Esper Settings App.
To customize the settings that appear, click on Customize Settings.
In the Customize Esper Settings section, you can choose the settings that appear in user and admin mode.
Checking or Changing the Admin Pin
You can check or change the Amin Mode settings from the Customize Settings screen. Click on the eye icon to view the password.
You can change the password by clicking on the in the text field. Passwords can be alphanumeric, up to 10 characters long, and contain special characters. Ensure the device’s keyboard also has access to any characters you choose for this password.
After a device converges with the blueprint, the admin password will change. If a device is not connecting with Esper, its password may not change. You can check the blueprint’s version history to see any previous passwords.
Hiding Esper Settings
By default, Esper Settings appears on the device’s screen. You can change this default behavior by enabling the hidden dock. When hidden, the app can be accessed by tapping the screen or power button.
To enable the hidden dock, to the blueprint, click on Esper Settings, choose Customize Settings, and then enable Esper Settings App accessible only via hidden dock.
iOS Esper Settings
