Provision a Windows device by either copying the deep link and pasting it into the Window device’s Edge browser, or by opening it on the device. This method is sometimes called auto-discovery.
Requirements:
- Windows 10, Enterprise and Professional
- Windows 11, Enterprise and Professional
Windows has ended support for Windows 10 as of October 2025. You can continue to manage Windows 10 (Enterprise and Professional) devices through the Esper console. Learn more from Microsoft’s official website.
Step 1: Select the provisioning blueprint
First, log in to the Esper console. In Provisioning Methods, select:
- Device Platform: Windows
- Provisioning Method: Deeplink
- Provisioning Blueprint: The blueprint you want associated with the device.
- Group: Optional. The group you want associated with the device.
Step 2: Provision with Deeplink
A deep link will be generated. Choose the option depending on situation:
- Use copy deep link if you’re working on a computer other than the Windows device. Send the link to the Windows device and open it in the Edge browser to begin provisioning.
- Use open deep link if your current device is the Windows device you wish to provision.
A Microsoft MDM enrollment page will appear. Your credentials will be automatically generated.
Press Next.
Provisioning should start.
It may take a few minutes. Click Got it and go to the console.
Step 3: Verify the device
In the Esper console, go to Devices & Groups. Search for your device’s model or serial number in the search bar.
You can also verify by checking Windows Task Manager and searching for Esper services.
