Linux Beta Underway: We’re happy to announce that our newest device management capabilities—that is, our Linux beta–is now underway. Here’s just a few things you can do:
- Provision a Linux device, seamlessly or via cURL script.
- Use a blueprint to manage device settings using scripts.
- Access remote terminal sessions to execute scripts, upload files, and download files. Troubleshoot , download logs, and get visibility into services like Docker.
- Create custom actions to bind scripts to UI elements–enabling even non-technical users to run Linux actions.
- Send one-off scripts to devices in-the-moment to reboot, install apps, and more right from the Devices & Groups page.
- Explore all our Linux documentation.
-
New app ordering for Android devices: You can now arrange the order of Android applications in a blueprint. Go to the Apps & Configuration of a blueprint and click on Customize > Arrange to drag and drop apps into any order you wish.
Some things to keep in mind when arranging apps:- Only apps listed in the blueprint will be available for arrangement.
- Any apps that appear on the device outside of the blueprint may appear after the arranged apps in any order.
- Apps can only switch places with other apps.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Updated design for Device OS widget: We changed the design of the Device OS type widget in the Dashboard. Now, you’ll be able to see the percentage of devices clearly when you hover over one of the sections. We’ve also changed the term from Apple to iOS/iPadOS to better convey the software we support.
- Fixed permission error when items per page was changed: We fixed an issue where a user would encounter a “You’re not allowed here” message despite having the proper permissions. This was due to an issue that occurred due to a user switching items per page while in the Templates experience. We’ve fixed this issue, so you should be able to change the items per page without encountering permission issues (provided you have the right credentials).
- Fixed blueprint JSON not updating correctly: We fixed an issue where uploading a JSON file into a blueprint using the “Edit via JSON” option didn’t reflect the changes or enable the Save button when editing for the first time. We’ve fixed this issue, so the changes are now properly applied, and the Save button becomes active as expected.
- Fixed registered devices not appearing in Devices & Groups: We fixed an issue where seamless provisioning allowed devices to be registered without requiring a group, resulting in missing device records in Devices & Groups for users on both the Templates and Blueprints experiences. We’ve fixed this issue, so group selection is now mandatory and registered devices now appear in Devices & Groups.
- Fixed Pipelines target count: We fixed an issue where the target count for a pipeline did not match the actual count of the group. This affected pipelines with a very large number of devices. We’ve fixed this, so the pipeline count should accurately reflect the amount of devices going forward.
- Zebra Android 13 fix: We fixed a touch input recognition issue that affected certain Zebra devices on Android 13, restoring full remote interaction.
- Remote session fix: We fixed an issue where a remote session would show a “Another Remote Control session is in progress” message if another session was started within 10 seconds of closing a previous session.
- Bulk registration fix: Resolved an issue where, after removing bulk registration, the group still displayed incorrect device entries.
- Popup fix: Fixed a popup error when users quickly switched from the Play Store tab to another section while accessing iOS apps.
- Filter fix: Fixed a bug where filters were not being sent correctly from the UI during operation creation.
-
Esper Agent Improvements:
- Fixed an issue that duplicated Wi-Fi access points in Esper settings.
- Fixed a rare issue where commands executed out of sequence.
- Fixed a rare issue where command processing would take longer than expected.
