Dates: Feb 28, 2024 - March 4, 2024
Esper Agent Version: 7.15.0068
New Features
- We’ve got some exciting announcements for iOS!
- We now support Custom Apps via Apple Business Manager. Much like how VPP apps work today, you’ll need to assign Custom Apps to the same location as your tenant in Apple Business Manager. Then, your Custom Apps will appear in the Esper VPP apps section, through a blueprint, and more!
- You can now identify whether an onboarded iOS device is supervised or unsupervised from the console. To do so, go to Devices & Groups, click on Views > Custom List View, and select Is Supervised. A Supervised column will be added to the device list. Currently, Supervised columns are supported for iOS devices. We still recommend supervising your iOS devices to take full advantage of Esper's capabilities.
- We’ve improved the ability to send Wi-Fi payloads to devices. Before, if you applied a blueprint where a Wi-Fi network wasn’t applied, the device would remove that Wi-Fi network. We now have a way of ensuring a smooth transition so that devices won’t lose their connections, regardless of the blueprint settings applied.
- Esper Settings now boasts comprehensive language support, enabling users to customize their experience in their preferred language. Whether you use English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Arabic, or any other supported language, Esper Settings now adapts seamlessly to meet diverse linguistic needs for Android devices on v7.15.0068 (this release's Esper Agent version).
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- We resolved an issue with APNS and DEP token uploads so that we account for more edge cases when it comes to handling certificates and tokens created in the console.
- We now show the correct user name in tenants. For Event Feed actions, usernames sometimes showed as Siteadmin, which wasn't helpful or accurate in some cases. We've corrected this, so now your actual username shows instead (sorry if you thought it was cool to be called the Siteadmin).
- We’ve resolved a UI issue that affected scrollings through filters in Devices & Groups and Pipelines. You can now scroll through all your templates and compliance policies.
- We’ve also made a bunch of UI improvements.
- The page now refreshes to reflect successful app uploads when adding an app to a blueprint.
- We’ve added helpful hints to help you make the most of your Android app experience.
- We’ve improved the workflow so that now you know which devices and groups are on which blueprints.
Before
After
- We’ve added user-friendly language throughout the console to help you along your device management journey.
- We’ve made aesthetic improvements to the Dashboard, User Management, Geofence, device page summaries, and more. We've added things such as borders and improved logo placements, colors, spacing, shadows, and animations (you know, when you expand the sidebar). Look around and see if you can spot the difference.
- In Application Management, we’ve added the package name to the App name column, freeing up space for a cleaner look and feel.
Before
After
- Added more detail to the Send Message command in a device’s event feed. The command will now display as Send Message in the Event Feed (instead of Notify Device) and it'll show its title and details so you can distinguish it from other messages.
- Improved the look of QR code provisioning while in full-screen mode. It no longer looks like it's being squeezed in its frame.
We’re excited to launch DevRel 132 over the coming days, and the Esper team is hard at work on the next release. Please contact Esper Support to share your thoughts on how Esper can improve future releases.
