eSIM visibility and remote profile management not available in Esper Console: feature request — under Product review, no ETA
Android
This article explains why eSIM visibility and remote profile management are not currently available in the Esper Console, and what you can do if you need these capabilities.
What's not available
The Esper Console does not currently provide:
- Visibility into eSIM profile status, carrier information, or device identifiers (EID/ICCID)
- The ability to see which SIM is active for data and voice
- Remote commands to delete or remove an eSIM profile without performing a factory reset
- Device filtering or reporting based on eSIM status
- eSIM management via the Esper REST API
This limitation applies to all Android devices with eSIM hardware enrolled in Esper, regardless of device group or Esper Agent version.
What we're tracking
Your feedback on eSIM management has been submitted to the Esper Product Team as a feature request. We are evaluating feasibility for the following capabilities:
- Display eSIM installed or not-installed state per device
- Show active or inactive eSIM profile status
- Show carrier or network associated with the eSIM profile
- Show EID and ICCID identifiers (where permitted by device manufacturer and carrier)
- Indicate which SIM is active for data and voice
- Expose eSIM data and management through the Esper Console UI and REST API
- Enable device list filtering and reporting based on eSIM status
- Support remote removal or deletion of eSIM profiles without factory reset
Check for updates
Monitor the Esper Release Notes for any announcement of eSIM support. As of now, there is no implementation timeline or commitment for this feature.
If you need this urgently
If eSIM management is blocking a large-scale device deployment or renewal decision, contact Esper Support so we can contact Esper Support your use case to the appropriate team.
You may also explore whether your device manufacturer offers its own management API or device policy extensions that surface eSIM data outside of Esper—this would require investigation on the device side.
