Advanced View: Right-click "Open in New Tab" on Device Name link broken when filtering by Group
Android
If you're unable to right-click a device name to open it in a new tab or window when filtering by group in the Advanced View, this article explains the issue and how to verify the fix.
Before you begin
This issue only affects the Advanced View in Devices & Groups when you've selected a specific group to filter the device list. The right-click context menu behavior should work normally when no group filter is active.
How to verify the fix
- Go to Devices & Groups and toggle to Advanced View (the toggle is in the top-right of the device list).
- Select a group from the left pane to filter the device list.
- Right-click on any device name. Your browser's standard link context menu should appear, including the option to "Open link in new tab" or "Open link in new window."
- If the context menu doesn't appear, perform a hard browser refresh:
- Windows/Linux: Press
Ctrl+Shift+R - macOS: Press
Cmd+Shift+R
- Windows/Linux: Press
- Navigate back to Devices & Groups → Advanced View, select a group, and try right-clicking a device name again.
If the issue persists
Try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Test in incognito or private mode: Open your browser's incognito or private window and log into the Esper Console. This rules out browser extension interference (such as ad blockers that may suppress context menus).
- Try a different browser: Test the same steps in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox to determine if the issue is browser-specific.
- Verify your browser version: Make note of your browser and its version number.
Workarounds
While you wait for the fix or if you continue to experience issues, you can use these alternatives:
- Use the unfiltered device list view (without selecting a group filter), where the right-click behavior may still work normally.
- Click the device name to open its details in the same tab, then use your browser's back button to return to the list.
Still need help?
