Breadcrumb navigation non-clickable in Devices & Groups view: behavior is by design in combined view; open-in-new-tab link fix deployed separately
Android
This article explains the breadcrumb navigation behavior in the Devices & Groups view and how to verify that device links work correctly when opening devices in a new tab.
Breadcrumb navigation is not clickable — this is by design
When you navigate to a device from within a group in the Devices & Groups view, the breadcrumb path at the top of the device details page (for example, Devices & Groups / Information Booth - Lost & Found / [Device Name]) is not clickable. This is intentional behavior in the combined view.
To return to a group, use one of these options:
- Click the browser Back button.
- Use the left-panel navigation in Devices & Groups to re-select the group directly.
Verify device links work correctly
Device names in group lists should be clickable and support opening in a new tab. Follow these steps to verify this functionality is working on your account:
- In the Esper Console, navigate to Devices & Groups.
- Click into any group to view the device list.
- Hover over a device name and confirm you see the underline/hyperlink styling.
- Right-click the device name and confirm Open link in new tab appears in the browser context menu.
- Click Open link in new tab to verify the device opens in a new tab.
Device links are broken or not showing as clickable
If device names are not displaying as clickable links or right-clicking does not show the Open link in new tab option, follow these steps:
- Refresh your browser and repeat the verification steps above.
- Try the same steps in an incognito/private browsing window to rule out browser cache or extensions.
- If the issue persists, contact Esper Support and include a screenshot showing the device name without underline styling.
