Removing "Powered by Esper" branding in Esper Launcher: backend configuration required
Android
If you want to remove the "Powered by Esper" branding from the Esper Launcher on your Android devices, you'll need to request a backend configuration change. This article explains how to do that.
Before you begin
Note that there is no self-service toggle in the Esper Console to remove this branding. You'll need to contact Esper Support to apply the change to your devices.
Gather your device information
Before contacting support, collect the following details:
- Device ID — find this in Devices & Groups → [Device] → Device Info
- IMEI number(s) of the affected device(s)
- Decide the scope of the change:
- A single test device
- Specific devices
- An entire device group
- Your whole tenant (recommended if you want the change applied to all current and future devices)
Test with a single device first
Before applying the change across all your devices, we recommend testing on one device. This lets you verify the result before rolling out the branding removal more broadly.
Contact Esper Support
Submit a support ticket and include:
- Your device ID(s) or tenant name
- The scope of the change you need (per-device, per-group, or tenant-wide)
- A note that you want the "Powered by Esper" branding removed from Esper Launcher
Verify the change
Once Esper Support applies the backend configuration:
- Check the Esper Launcher on your test device to confirm the branding is gone
- Verify the device has synced with Esper — check Devices & Groups → [Device] → Last Sync
- If needed, reboot the device or force an agent sync
- Once verified, the change can be applied to remaining devices or your entire tenant
If the branding still appears
If the branding persists after the backend configuration has been applied:
- Confirm the device has synced with the Esper backend by checking Devices & Groups → [Device] → Last Sync
- If the device is offline, wait for it to come back online — configuration changes take effect after the device syncs
- Try rebooting the device or forcing an agent sync
- Contact Esper Support again with the device ID, the timestamp when the backend change was applied, and confirmation that the device has synced
