Screen orientation reversed after firmware update on TSIM-004: set Blueprint orientation to Landscape and reconverge to fix
Android
If your TSIM-004 device displays content in portrait mode instead of landscape after a firmware update, or if the orientation appears inverted, follow these steps to resolve the issue.
Before you begin
This solution applies to TSIM-004 devices running firmware TSIM-004_20260427-1120 or later. Ensure your device is online and connected to the Esper Console before proceeding.
How to fix screen orientation
- In the Esper Console, go to Devices & Groups and locate your affected device.
- Confirm the device is online. If it's offline, wait for it to come online or perform a physical reboot.
- Navigate to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Actions → Converge to push the current configuration to the device. Wait for the command to complete with a Success status.
- Open the Blueprint applied to your device. Go to Blueprints → [Blueprint Name] → Edit.
- Change the Orientation setting to Landscape (if it's currently set to Auto or another value).
- Save the Blueprint.
- Return to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Actions → Converge to apply the updated orientation setting to your device.
- Wait for the Converge command to complete successfully.
- Update the Esper Agent to the latest version. Go to Esper Software Updates → Esper Agent.
- Verify that your device now displays content in landscape orientation across the full screen.
If orientation is still inverted
If your device still displays in portrait mode after following the steps above, collect a bug report to help Esper Support diagnose the issue:
- Go to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Bug Report to capture a remote bug report.
- If the remote capture times out or remains stuck in "in progress," try these alternatives:
- Reboot your device first via Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Actions → Reboot, then retry the bug report immediately after reboot.
- If you have ADB access, connect your device via USB and run:
Make sure USB debugging is enabled under Settings → Developer Options and the device appears inadb bugreport bugreport.zipadb devicesbefore running this command.
- If you encounter ADB connection issues, verify your USB cable supports data transfer (not charge-only) and confirm USB debugging is enabled in Developer Options.
- Contact Esper Support and provide the bug report so our team can investigate further.
Still need help?
If these steps don't resolve your orientation issue, submit a support ticket and include your device name, the Blueprint name, and any bug reports you've collected.
