Blueprint creation hangs indefinitely (5+ minutes) in Esper Console: check network connectivity and retry
Android
When creating a Blueprint in the Esper Console, the creation wizard hangs indefinitely and never completes — leaving the spinner running for five minutes or more with no confirmation or error message.
Why this happens
Blueprint creation requires a sustained connection to the Esper API. If your browser cannot reach the API — due to a dropped connection, local network instability, or a stale browser session — the request stalls silently instead of returning an error. In most cases, restoring a stable connection and clearing the browser state is enough to resolve it.
Steps to resolve
- Confirm your internet connection is stable. Open two or three unrelated websites or run a speed test. If other sites are slow or unreachable, resolve your connectivity issue before continuing. If you are on Wi-Fi, switch to a wired connection or a mobile hotspot to rule out local wireless instability.
-
Hard-refresh the Esper Console to clear any stale browser session data that may be blocking the API call:
- Windows or Linux: Ctrl + Shift + R
- macOS: Cmd + Shift + R
- Retry Blueprint creation. Navigate to Blueprints in the Esper Console, click Create Blueprint, and complete the wizard. Monitor whether the spinner resolves within 60 seconds.
- Switch to a different browser if the hang recurs. Browser extensions or aggressive cache settings can interfere with API requests. Test in a second browser — for example, Chrome if you were using Firefox — without any extensions enabled.
-
Inspect the browser's network activity to identify which API call is failing. This information is required if you need to contact support:
- Press F12 to open developer tools and go to the Network tab.
- Attempt to create the Blueprint again.
- Filter for failed or pending requests and note any
5xxor408HTTP error codes, the specific API endpoint, and any requests stuck in a pending state. - Take a screenshot of the Network tab before closing or refreshing the page — this data is lost on refresh.
- Try a different machine on a separate network if the issue continues. This isolates whether the problem is specific to your browser and network environment or affects the platform more broadly.
Verify: The Blueprint wizard completes and your new blueprint appears in the Blueprints list in the Esper Console. Creation typically completes within 30–60 seconds on a stable connection.
If this doesn't resolve it
Contact Esper Support and include the following:
- Your browser name and version, and your operating system
- Whether the hang reproduces on a different browser or network
- A screenshot of the Network tab (F12) showing any failed or pending requests, including HTTP error codes and endpoint names
- The approximate time (with timezone) when the issue occurred, so the platform logs can be checked for any concurrent incidents
Still need help?
If blueprint creation continues to hang after verifying your network connectivity, please submit a support ticket and include your console logs, the blueprint name, and how long the process has been running.
