Title: Samsung taskbar and Picture-in-Picture unavailable — Esper Launcher active

After enrolling a Samsung tablet into Esper and applying the Esper Launcher, the Samsung taskbar (One UI Home dock) disappears and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode stops working as expected.

Why this happens

The Samsung taskbar is a built-in component of the One UI Home launcher. When the Esper Launcher replaces One UI Home as the default launcher, the taskbar is no longer rendered — the Esper Launcher does not include an equivalent persistent dock. Similarly, PiP overlays depend on the active launcher's windowing environment, and the Esper Launcher does not currently surface PiP windows. These are known product limitations, not configuration errors.

Confirm the Esper Launcher is active

Open the Esper Console and navigate to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Settings → Launcher.
Check which launcher is listed as active. If the Esper Launcher is active, the Samsung taskbar and PiP mode will be unavailable for the reasons described above.

Choose a path forward

You have two options depending on your deployment requirements:

Keep the Esper Launcher. If your deployment does not require the Samsung taskbar or PiP functionality, no change is needed. Kiosk and lockdown capabilities remain fully intact.
Switch to the OEM launcher. If your workflow depends on the Samsung taskbar or PiP mode, switch from the Esper Launcher to the Android or Samsung OEM launcher. Navigate to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Settings → Launcher and select the OEM launcher. Be aware that switching away from the Esper Launcher reduces kiosk and lockdown enforcement on the device.

Verify: After switching to the OEM launcher, reboot the device. The Samsung taskbar should reappear on the home screen and PiP mode should function as expected within a few minutes of the device restarting.
