Confluence app shows blank page after login on isolated Android device: update Esper Agent to resolve
Android
If the Confluence app displays a blank page after you tap Login on an isolated Android device, the issue is often related to an outdated Esper Agent. Follow these steps to resolve it.
Check your Esper Agent version
- In the Esper Console, navigate to Devices & Groups → [Your Device] → Device Details.
- Note the Esper Agent version displayed in the device information. If it is older than the current version available in your console, proceed to the next section.
Update your Esper Agent
- In the Esper Console, navigate to Devices & Groups → [Your Device] → Actions.
- Select Agent Update to upgrade to the latest available version.
- Wait for the update to complete. Your device will check in automatically once finished.
- Open the Confluence app and tap Login.
- Verify that the login page loads correctly and you can authenticate without seeing a blank page.
If the issue persists
If updating the Esper Agent does not resolve the blank page, try the following:
- Check your Android System WebView version: In the Esper Console, go to Devices & Groups → [Your Device] → Device Details → Installed Apps. Compare your WebView version to a device in your fleet where Confluence login works correctly. An outdated or corrupted WebView is a common cause of blank-page login failures.
- Capture a bug report: Navigate to Devices & Groups → [Your Device] → Actions → Request Bug Report. Check the logs for WebView, certificate, or network errors.
- Verify network access: Ensure your device can reach all Confluence authentication endpoints. If your organization uses single sign-on (SSO) or OAuth, a per-device firewall or proxy misconfiguration could block login redirects on this device only.
- Capture a screen recording: Record the full sequence from launching the Confluence app through the blank page appearing. This helps identify the exact point where the login flow fails.
Still need help?
If you have tried the above steps and the issue remains unresolved, contact Esper Support. Include the bug report, your Esper Agent version, your Android System WebView version, and the screen recording in your support ticket.
