Device details cannot be opened in new tab/window when a group is selected in Devices & Groups view: resolved via product fix
Android
When a group is selected in the Devices & Groups view, right-clicking a device does not show the browser context menu options to open the device details in a new tab or new window.
Why this happens
An earlier version of the Esper Console captured right-click events on the device list, which suppressed the browser's native context menu whenever a group was active in the left-hand tree. This has been corrected in a product update. If the context menu is still missing, a cached version of the Console UI is most likely being served to your browser.
Steps to restore right-click context menu
-
Hard-refresh the Esper Console to force your browser to load the updated UI instead of a cached copy.
- Windows / Linux: Ctrl+Shift+R
- macOS: Cmd+Shift+R
- Clear your browser cache if a hard-refresh alone does not help. In most browsers, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data, select Cached images and files, and confirm. This removes any stale Console assets that a hard-refresh may not replace.
- Disable browser extensions temporarily. Some ad-blockers and privacy extensions suppress right-click context menus globally. Disable all extensions, reload the Console, and test again to determine whether an extension is interfering.
- Test in a second browser — Chrome, Edge, or Firefox — to confirm the issue is not isolated to one browser profile or its extensions.
- Verify your Console version (self-hosted or dedicated-cloud instances only). Navigate to Devices & Groups, select a group from the left-hand tree, right-click any device, and check whether the browser context menu appears. If it does not, contact your instance administrator to confirm the deployed Console version includes this fix.
If this doesn't resolve it
If the context menu is still missing after clearing the cache, testing in another browser, and confirming your Console version, contact Esper Support. Include the following when you reach out:
- A screen recording that shows the missing context menu
- Your tenant name or environment URL
- The browser name, version, and operating system you are using
- For self-hosted instances: the Console version number from your administrator
Still need help?
If the steps above don't resolve the issue, submit a support ticket with your device model, Android version, Esper Agent version, and a description of what you've already tried — this helps the support team investigate without a follow-up.
