Account cancellation for Self-Service plan
Android
If you're on a Self-Service plan and want to cancel your subscription before your next renewal date, you can do this yourself directly from the Esper Console. This article walks you through the cancellation process and explains the difference between subscription cancellation and account deletion.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following:
- Owner or Billing Admin role on your Esper tenant
- All devices removed from your console (navigate to Devices & Groups to verify your device list is empty)
How to cancel your subscription
- Log in to the Esper Console.
- In the left sidebar, navigate to Plans & Billing.
- Follow the cancellation steps in the Introduction to the Plans and Billing Section article under the Cancellation section.
- After you complete the cancellation, return to Plans & Billing and verify that your subscription status shows as cancelled or inactive.
I don't see the cancellation option
If you cannot locate the cancellation option in Plans & Billing, check the following:
- User role: Confirm you have Owner or Billing Admin role on your tenant. Non-admin users cannot access billing controls.
- Plan type: If you're on a managed or enterprise plan (not Self-Service), you cannot self-cancel your subscription. Contact Esper Support to discuss your offboarding options.
Account deletion (optional)
Subscription cancellation and account deletion are two separate actions. Cancelling your subscription stops your billing, but your account and data remain. If you want to permanently delete your account, understand the following:
- Data removal: All associated device data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
- Account reactivation: Your account cannot be restored once deleted. You must create a new account to use Esper in the future.
- Pending obligations: Any outstanding transactions or unresolved issues must be cleared before deletion.
If you want to proceed with account deletion after understanding these consequences, contact Esper Support with written confirmation that you've read and accepted these terms, and we will process your request.
