Esper Console "Something Went Wrong" error on Devices & Groups tab
Android
When the Devices & Groups tab fails to load in the Esper Console, you see a Something went wrong error on the page while all other Console sections continue to work normally.
Why this happens
This error indicates a service disruption on Esper's backend infrastructure affecting the device management layer. It is not caused by your account configuration, device enrollment state, or browser. Other Console sections remain accessible because they depend on separate services.
Steps to resolve
- Check the Esper status page at status.esper.io before taking any other action. If an active incident is listed, Esper's engineering team is already working on a fix and no further action is required from you until the incident is resolved.
-
Perform a hard refresh of the Esper Console to bypass any locally cached version of the page that may be serving stale content:
- Windows: Ctrl+Shift+R
- Mac: Cmd+Shift+R
- Clear your browser cache and cookies, then reload the Esper Console. Cached authentication tokens or API responses can cause the page to fail even after a backend issue is resolved.
- Open an incognito or private browsing window and navigate to your Esper Console endpoint. This rules out browser extensions or persistent session data as a contributing factor.
- Wait for the backend fix to deploy. If the Esper status page confirms an active incident, the Devices & Groups tab will return to normal automatically once Esper's engineering team resolves the issue. No configuration changes are needed on your end.
Something went wrong message should no longer appear on load or refresh.
If this doesn't resolve it
If the error persists after completing all steps above and no incident is listed on the status page, contact Esper Support and include the following:
- Your enterprise name
- Your Esper Console endpoint URL (for example,
yourcompany.esper.cloud) - The exact date and time you first encountered the error, including your time zone
- The browsers and operating systems you tested, noting whether the error appears in all of them or only specific ones
Still need help?
If the steps above don't resolve the issue, submit a support ticket with your device model, Android version, Esper Agent version, and a description of what you've already tried — this helps the support team investigate without a follow-up.
