Blueprint Group View app dropdown shows incomplete app list: search by name to find missing apps
Android
When managing apps through a Blueprint-assigned group, some enterprise or private apps may not appear in the install dropdown list, even though those apps exist in your Esper catalog and are available on individual devices.
Why this happens
The Group View app dropdown has a display limit that can cause it to render an incomplete list when a large number of apps are present in your catalog. This is a known rendering limitation of the Group View — the apps themselves are fully available and installable. Searching by name bypasses the display limit and returns the correct results.
Find and install a missing app using search
- Open the Esper Console and navigate to Devices & Groups, then select the affected group.
- Select the Apps tab.
- Locate the app install dropdown. Do not scroll through the list — scrolling will only show the truncated set of results.
- Type the app name directly into the search field within the dropdown — for example,
BytePOSorNextGen Time Clock. The matching app will appear in the filtered results even if it was not visible when the list first loaded. - Select the app from the filtered results and proceed with the group-level install as normal.
If the app does not appear in the search results
If typing the full app name returns no results in the Group View search, work through the following checks before contacting support.
- Confirm the app is active in your catalog: navigate to Apps & Configuration → Enterprise Apps and verify the APK is uploaded and its status is set to Active. If multiple versions exist, confirm the intended version is not archived.
- Confirm the app is visible at the device level: navigate to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Apps on a device within the group and verify the app appears and can be installed there. If it does, the issue is isolated to the Group View display.
- Test in a different browser to rule out a browser-specific rendering issue with the Esper Console.
If this doesn't resolve it
If the app does not appear in search results in either Group View or individual device view, or if the issue affects specific app names consistently across browsers, contact Esper Support and include the following:
- The names and version numbers of the affected apps
- The name of the affected group
- Screenshots comparing the Group View dropdown with the individual device view for the same app
- Confirmation of whether the issue reproduces across multiple browsers and browser sessions

Still need help?
If the steps above don't resolve the issue, submit a support ticket with your device model, Android version, Esper Agent version, and a description of what you've already tried — this helps the support team investigate without a follow-up.
