Admin PIN dialog visually blocked in Remote Viewer on Samsung Android 15+ devices: enable Screen Share Protection as workaround

On Samsung tablets running Android 15 or later, the admin PIN entry dialog may be visually blocked when you attempt to access it through Esper's Remote Viewer. This article explains how to resolve this issue.

Before you begin

This issue affects Samsung devices only on Android 15 and later. To check your device's Android version, go to Settings → About Tablet → Software Information → Android Version.

How to enable Screen Share Protection

Samsung introduced a screen share protection mechanism on Android 15 that blocks sensitive UI elements (like PIN dialogs) during remote viewing sessions by default. You must manually enable Screen Share Protection on your device to resolve this issue.

1. On your Samsung device, open Settings.
2. Navigate to Settings → Developer Options.
   • If Developer Options is not visible, go to Settings → About Tablet → Software Information and tap Build Number seven times to enable it.
3. Find the Screen Share Protection toggle and turn it on.
4. In the Esper Console, start a new Remote Viewer session for your device.
5. Verify that the admin PIN dialog is now visible and responsive in the remote session.

If the PIN dialog is still blocked

• Confirm your device runs Android 15 or later by checking Settings → About Tablet → Software Information → Android Version.
• Verify that Developer Options is fully enabled on your device. Some Samsung enterprise builds may restrict access to Developer Options; if so, your Knox policy may need adjustment outside of Esper.
• If Screen Share Protection is enabled but the PIN dialog remains blocked, request a bug report from your device by going to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Actions → Request Bug Report.
