"No Internet" screen only appears during provisioning, not at runtime — use Android/Esper Settings for reconnection
Android
When a provisioned device loses Wi-Fi connectivity, the "No Internet" screen that appeared during setup does not reappear — leaving the device offline with no obvious way to reconnect.
Why this happens
The "No Internet" screen is part of the provisioning flow only. It surfaces during QR code, Zero-Touch, or other enrollment methods so the device can reach Esper's servers to complete setup. Once provisioning finishes, Android no longer triggers that screen for connectivity loss — reconnection must be handled through device settings or the Esper Console.
How to reconnect a provisioned device
Use the method that matches what is accessible on your device.
Option 1: Reconnect through Esper Settings
- Open Esper Settings on the device.
- Navigate to Network → Wi-Fi.
- Select your network, enter the password if prompted, and wait for the connection to establish.
Option 2: Reconnect through Android Settings
- Open Settings on the device.
- Navigate to Network & Internet → Wi-Fi.
- Select your network, enter the password if prompted, and wait for the connection to establish.
Option 3: Push a Wi-Fi configuration from the Esper Console
Use this option when the device has intermittent connectivity but settings are not accessible to the end user.
- In the Esper Console, go to Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Settings → Wi-Fi.
- Add or update the network with the correct SSID and password.
- Save the configuration. The device will apply it the next time it establishes a connection to Esper's servers.
Option 4: Add Wi-Fi networks to the Blueprint
Pre-configuring networks in a Blueprint prevents this situation on future devices or after a device wipe, because credentials are pushed automatically without user interaction.
- In the Esper Console, go to Blueprints → Network → Wi-Fi.
- Add each expected network with its SSID and credentials.
- Apply the updated blueprint to the affected device group under Devices & Groups.
If the device is in kiosk or restricted mode
If neither Esper Settings nor Android Settings are accessible to end users, Option 3 is the only remote path. If the device is fully offline and not reachable by the Esper Console, physical access to the device is required to restore connectivity before any remote configuration can take effect.
If this doesn't resolve it
If the device remains offline after trying the steps above, collect the following before contacting support:
- Device serial number and Esper device ID (visible under Devices & Groups → [Device Name] → Overview)
- The last online timestamp from the device Overview page
- Which options were attempted and what behavior was observed
- A screenshot of the connectivity status in the Esper Console
Contact Esper Support with this information.
Still need help?
If the steps above don't resolve the issue, submit a support ticket with your device model, Android version, Esper Agent version, and a description of what you've already tried — this helps the support team investigate without a follow-up.
