False 'devices below minimum Esper Agent version' warning despite compliant device list
Android
Title: "Devices below minimum Esper Agent version" warning — devices are compliantWhen the Esper Console displays a warning in tenant settings stating that devices are running below the minimum required Esper Agent version, but every device in Devices & Groups shows a compliant version, the warning is a false positive and no action is needed on your devices.
Why this happens
A backend data aggregation issue can cause the compliance summary in tenant settings to reflect stale or incorrect version counts. The individual device records in Devices & Groups are accurate — only the aggregated warning display is incorrect. Your devices are fully managed and functioning normally.
Confirm the warning is a false positive
- Open the Esper Console and navigate to Devices & Groups.
- Select Filters and apply the Esper Agent Version filter to identify any devices running below version 7.12.3. This lets you check the ground-truth per-device data rather than the aggregated summary that triggered the warning.
- Review the filtered results. If no devices appear in the results, the underlying device fleet is fully compliant and the warning is confirmed as a false positive.
If this doesn't resolve it
If devices do appear below the minimum version in the filtered results, or if the warning persists and is causing operational concerns, contact Esper Support and include:
- A screenshot of the warning shown in Settings → Your Tenant
- A screenshot of the Esper Agent Version filter results from Devices & Groups
- The total number of devices your tenant has enrolled
- The approximate device count cited in the warning message
Still need help?
If the steps above don't resolve the issue, submit a support ticket with your device model, Android version, Esper Agent version, and a description of what you've already tried — this helps the support team investigate without a follow-up.
