Expired or pending invite prevents new user from accessing Esper Console: admin must delete and resend the invitation
Android
When an Esper Console invitation expires or becomes stuck in a pending state, the invited user cannot complete sign-up or log in to the Console. The invitation link silently fails, leaving the user without access.
Why this happens
Esper Console invitation links expire after a few days. If the link is not used within that window, the user record remains in a Pending state and the original link will not work again. The only resolution is for an Enterprise Admin to delete the stale invitation and issue a new one.
Before you begin
These steps must be completed by an Enterprise Admin for your Esper tenant. If you are unsure who your Enterprise Admin is, check with your internal IT or operations team.
Steps
- Log in to the Esper Console as an Enterprise Admin.
- Navigate to Company Settings → User Management and locate the affected user's email address. The entry will show a status of Pending.
- Click the pending invitation entry and select Delete. Deleting the stale record fully clears the previous invitation so a fresh one can be issued without conflict.
- Send a new invitation to the user from the same Company Settings → User Management panel using the same email address.
- Open the new invitation email and click the activation link promptly — the link will expire after a few days.
- Complete the sign-up flow and log in to the Esper Console.
Verify: In Company Settings → User Management, the user's status should update from Pending to Active immediately after sign-up is completed. The user should be able to log in to the Esper Console without error.
If the invitation email doesn't arrive
- Check your spam or junk folder for an email from Esper.
- Ask your Enterprise Admin to verify the email address entered and resend if there was a typo.
- Ask your Enterprise Admin to try an alternate email address if your mail server may be filtering Esper messages.
If this doesn't resolve it
If the pending invitation cannot be deleted from Company Settings → User Management, or if the user's status does not update to Active after completing sign-up, contact Esper Support with the following information:
- The affected user's email address
- Your Esper tenant name
- The date the original invitation was sent
Still need help?
If the steps above don't resolve the issue, submit a support ticket with your device model, Android version, Esper Agent version, and a description of what you've already tried — this helps the support team investigate without a follow-up.
