Esper Console — August 2026 Release Update

Here's what's new in this month's Console update. All changes are live on your tenant — no action required on your end unless noted.

New features

Faster convergence for large groups. Blueprint convergence for groups of 500 or more devices is now significantly faster. Commands are now batched and dispatched in parallel rather than sequentially.
DEFER_UNTIL_CHARGED policy. You can now configure commands in a Blueprint to defer execution until the device battery reaches a set threshold. Useful for overnight update deployments on kiosk and POS devices.
Blueprint diff view. The compliance view now shows a per-app version delta — you can see at a glance which app version is installed versus what the Blueprint expects, without opening each device individually.

Android 15 Zero Touch support. Esper now supports the updated Zero Touch enrollment flow introduced in Android 15. If you have devices running Android 15 in your pipeline, no changes are needed on your end — enrollment works as before.
New DPC Extra flag: ALLOW_SKIP_ON_FIRST_BOOT. Allows the Esper agent to proceed through provisioning even when certain hardware checks fail on first boot. Primarily useful for kiosk deployments on devices with limited peripherals.

Automatic session reconnect. Remote Viewer sessions now reconnect automatically after brief network interruptions. Previously, you had to restart the session manually.
Keyboard passthrough for barcode scanners. Input from Bluetooth and USB barcode scanners is now passed through correctly during Remote Viewer sessions.

New endpoint: GET /v0/enterprise/{id}/devices/compliance-summary — returns a fleet-wide compliance snapshot in a single call. See the API reference for details.
Two new webhook event types: device.compliance_change and blueprint.converge_complete. These fire whenever a device's compliance state changes or a Blueprint convergence finishes. See Webhooks documentation for setup.

Fixed: MQTT reconnect loop occurring on devices switching between Wi-Fi networks or transitioning between Wi-Fi and cellular.
Fixed: Blueprint showing "Out of Sync" incorrectly for up to 15 minutes after a supervised app update completed successfully.
Fixed: ADB over TCP not re-enabling automatically after a device reboot while in developer/debug mode.

Remote Viewer sessions may display a black screen on devices running Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. We are actively working on a fix. If you are affected, please submit a support ticket with your device model and we will follow up directly.
